“Can I record this,” she asked and I said sure.
And then, for twenty minutes or so, shoveling in my chicken salad in between thoughts, I just riffed. It all just kind of came out as if I knew what I was talking about. I had thought a lot about this subject. I had said all of these things before. It seemed like every week at least someone was asking about my opinion on this and so this time when she asked, I knew exactly what to say. And it must’ve sounded good enough to record.
Later that night, she sent me the recording, and I, never one to turn down an opportunity to hear myself talk, listened to the whole thing and when it was all said and done, I pursed my lips and said to myself, “Would make a great article.”
