I was in serious trouble.

The life or death kind. No, it was worse than that. I was in the battle for your soul, good and evil, cosmic-fucking-scale kind of trouble. And I had no idea how to get out.

I was lost, stuck, utterly fucked, up shit’s creek without a paddle, missing my map, and forgot to leave a note on the kitchen table about where I was going like my mom always told me to, figuratively speaking.

I’m talking capital S, capital T — Serious Trouble.

This is the story of how I navigated my way out of Serious Trouble by using fear as a compass.
