Are You Abusing Psychedelics?
Look, psychedelics are great. But let’s not kid ourselves — you can abuse them. Here’s how to tell if you are.
We all have that one friend that took too much. There’s that thin veneer of carefree happiness and genuine spirituality. But, just under the surface, their life is still a mess. They no longer reside in the real world. They can’t get their shit together. And they’re convinced that one more dose will fix everything.
When you question them, they tell you they’re natural. Safe. You can’t OD and you can’t get addicted. That they can heal you. They can change the world, too. And, in a sense and to a degree, they’re right about all of that. But we all know, you can have too much of a good thing.
Psychedelics are fascinating and awesome, in the truest sense of the word. They provide a peek into how life could be. But at some point, you have to put them down and do the actual work. Psychedelics are a tool to help you improve your life. But that’s hard. It takes real work. It’s easier to just keep blasting off. So, people tend to abuse them. They become psychologically addicted, not physically.
